The purpose of the Clothesline Project:

  • To bear witness to the survivors, as well as the victims of the war against women.
  • To help wiith the healing process for people who have lost a loved one, or are survivors of the violence.
  • To educate, document, and raise society's awareness of the extent of violence against women.
  • To provide a nationwide network of support, encouragement, and information.

Color-Coding

White:for women who have died of violence.

Yellow: for women who have been battered or assaulted

Red: for women who have been raped or sexuallly assaulted

Blue: for women survivors of incest or child sexual abuse.
